Tapestry Lunch Club
A day of good food and friendships
Following the Government announcement on 9 September of allowing up to six people from mixed households to meet indoors , we have now reopened our lunch clubs and have welcomed back our loyal guests and look forward to welcoming new guests (and hosts) to our lunch clubs. Our number one commitment remains the welfare of our guests and our team. We have put in place measures designed to ensure the safety of our hosts and our guests alike. This will be our new “business as usual”. We have had to adjust some of the day due to COVID-19, and have conducted a full risk assessment to ensure both our guests and hosts stay safe. In principal, the day remains the same but hygiene and social distancing are now at the fore front of our minds. We are happy to share all our new procedures with you. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for further information of how we can and intend to work safely.
Tapestry Lunch Club is a club with a difference offering a day of good food and where friendships can be made. Our clubs support people who are living in isolation, feel socially excluded or experiencing a deterioration in memory. Memory loss can be attributed to symptoms associated with Dementia. Our guests generally live in their own homes within the communities of West Sussex and Surrey.
Tapestry Lunch Club’s mission is to address and improve social interaction for older people and offers a different form of day support for small groups from two to five guests. Our aim is to create an environment where our guests will feel supported and cared for, help reduce anxiety, have regular face-to-face contact with others which enables strong relationships to be built, re-gain confidence, enjoy being part of a small group and ultimately remain a valued member of their community. Furthermore, Tapestry Lunch Club offers a high quality and regular replacement care for our guests’ carers.
Our guests will benefit from a sociable day with a delicious home cooked meal in the safe and friendly home of a carefully vetted and trained ‘host’. All our hosts are excellent cooks and once vetted, are extensively trained in Safeguarding, Food & Hygiene, Emergency 1st Aid, Dementia Awareness, Manual Handling and will have been fully DBS checked. Transport of our guests is part of TLC’s service and all our hosts’ cars are insured for business use and our hosts’ homes are fully risk assessed. Our hosts will not be able to provide personal care.
Sometimes we understand that meeting new people might be unsettling for our guests, therefore we would be delighted to welcome both guests and their carers to join us for their first lunch with with one of our Lunch Clubs. We also are very happy for our guests to come and spend a trial day with us to see if we are the right support service.
Call us onor email email@example.com for our day rate (which includes lunch and transport) and any further information.
